A report released by Atos Consulting sets the agenda for the telecoms industry in 2006

The European telecommunications landscape is in the midst of some major changes that are transforming the industry.  Voice revenues are under threat as never before.  Fixed-line operators face the slowdown of revenue streams as call minutes are offered free in an environment driven by increasing competition.  In the mobile market too, ferocious competition means that voice revenues are relatively flat.  The same applies to the ISP world, where Europe has seen a price war that impacted operator revenues, but put broadband access within reach of an increasing number of home users.

This report identifies some of the key trends for 2006 and seeks to give an insight into how telcos and service providers need to redefine their business models to capitalise on upcoming opportunities and therefore improve revenues in an extremely competitive environment.
