Atos Origin supports MVNO´s by enabling them to be a supplier of mobile services and creating a successful and cost efficient service to their customers whether they are Telecom or Internet providers such as ADSL and VoIP.
A Mobile Virtual Network Operator MVNO is a company with no spectrum or radio transport infrastructure and that leases network capacity and sells services under its own brand using its own assets such as content and distribution channels. Eight years ago the world’s first Mobile Virtual Network Operator, Virgin Mobile, was launched in the UK and since then MVNO has become a buzz word within the telecoms industry. Attracted by lower barriers to entry, potentially high returns on investment and strategic synergies, there has been a steady stream of new MVNO launch announcements.
MVNOs operate predominantly in the US and Western Europe, but today you can find them in South America and Eastern Europe too. And, after several years of limited investment in the telecoms sector as a whole, MVNOs are now managing to attract significant financial backing. An aggressive growth of MVNO’s is predicted for the period 2006- 2008 and it is expected that by 2009 between 15-20% of all mobile subscribers will be serviced by MVNO’s.
Supporting the Entire Business Environment
Atos Origin supports MVNO´s by enabling them to be a supplier of mobile services and creating a successful and cost efficient service to their customers whether they are Telecom or Internet providers such as ADSL and VoIP. It is able to leverage its experience, people, global reach, process knowledge, partners and technology to run subscription based services and reduce launch investment and ongoing costs associated with becoming an MVNO.
Atos Origin offers subscription based MVNO Services for the European market from world class carrier grade datacenters in the Netherlands, complemented with value added services such as Voucher Management, Prepaid Recharge, Payment Gateways, etc. It provides full functionality to support the entire business with a rapid implementation time (2-3 months) and enables MVNOs to simply and quickly anticipate the rapidly changing and very competitive market.
Joining forces to launch hosted MVNO services
Recently, Atos Origin has teamed up with a number of partners to launch hosted MVNO services. One example is CDRator’s integrated BSS. This is a hosted service for the MVNO market offering an all-in-one package for billing, customer care and business management. CDRator is an innovative organization with an excellent track record in the European MVNO industry.
Atos Origin offers MVNO’s and Service Providers the complete functionality to support their entire business through an outsourced model on a pay-as-you-go basis. This offers customers a low barrier to entry (low or no CapEx) and a tiered pricing model where they pay a lower price per subscriber as the subscriber base grows. Atos Origin can also help customers to build the platform at their own premises and provide remote managed operations. This can be particularly the case for mobile network operators. Atos Origin has built up an excellent track record in the MVNO and Service Provider industry and its platform is used by more than 22 MVNO’s in Europe.
