Llorenç Aguila
Risk & Operations Director, Olympics & Major Events
Llorenç Aguila is director for risk management and operations based in the Major Events headquarters in Barcelona. As Risk and Operations director he has responsibility for the risk management process and the operations area across all Major Events projects including the Olympics. He is also responsible for the delivery a number of projects in the Major Events unit.
Prior to starting his position in Barcelona, he was part of the on-site team in Torino2006 and Athens 2004 with responsibilities in different positions within the Operations teams such as the commission and deployment of the IT infrastructure in Torino2006 or the preparation of the Technical Rehearsals and Disaster Recovery Plan in Athens2004. He was also part of the team that delivered the Salt Lake2002, project, this time leading a part of the development of our info diffusion solutions. He started his career as software engineer working on the finance industry and being involved in various international projects in Europe.
He holds a Bachelor of Physics from the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate in leadership from the Glasgow Caledonian University complemented with project management training and specific certifications in IT competences such as ITIL.
