Support for the Monikahaus orphanage

For over nine years Atos Origin’s subsidiary Atos Worldline and its staff have supported the orphanage Monikahaus in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany, which looks after over 60 children and teenagers from families with a difficult social background. The main goals of the Monikahaus orphanage are to safeguard the continued existence of these families and to offer the children a better chance in life. This project is supported by Atos Worldline through financial sources, some private sponsorship, fund-raising events and Christmas gifts and donations. The support of the 'Monikahaus' project has been widely encouraged by the employees who take an active part in various activities with the kids during their free time.

In November 2008, in recognition of their long-term commitment and support to the orphanage, Atos Worldline employees received the Walter Möller insignia Award from Frankfurt’s mayor Petra Roth.

"Atos Worldline employees probably belong to Frankfurt’s pioneers of such partnerships, and have already taken action at a time when 'Corporate Social Responsibility' was usually nothing more than the discourse of the executive board", declared Frankfurt’s mayor Petra Roth while congratulating the employees personal commitment. “For the first time“, she pointed out, “the Walter Möller insignia is conferred to the employees of a company who set standards with their social commitment.”

The insignia, named after the social democrat and former mayor of Frankfurt Walter Möller is conferred every two years to associations, societies and action groups which have rendered outstanding services to the public well being of the City of Frankfurt. The prize money will be directly donated to the 'Monikahaus'.
