IP Convergence and Value added services

Our Focus

The Value Added Services that are now possible include, VoIP, TV over the Internet (IPTV), mobile TV channels (either streaming for on demand video or video clips, or public broadcast channels, push to talk services, e.g VoIP over mobile, multi-user voice and videoconferencing, enhanced payment and transaction services over internet and mobile, content capture and peer-peer publishing and distribution, gaming, gambling, specialist information and news services, machine-machine interaction over air, etc.).

Here the four key business and technical issues occupying for Telecoms and multi-media service providers include (1)Flexible and dynamic product and service bundling, (2) tariff management and pricing, (3)automated fulfillment and activation, and (4) QoS / Customer Experience Management.

On top of IP Converged Service models is now the fast arriving IMS architecture, which will allow greater application bias for VAS and application - application services, independent of the underlying network operators’ service control. Addressing the Customer Service and Operational Issues of Converged IP VAS, Atos Origin is developing with a set of client operators and leading vendors a reference architecture, termed PSA (IP Product and Service Assembly).

Addressing the IMS overlay for Converged IP Services and VAS, Atos Origin has developed an IMS technology solution and demonstrator centre in Paris, in conjunction with leading IMS vendors. This allows operators and vendors to test interoperability and application readiness for their IMS enabling solutions. The Atos Origin demonstration puts IMS through its paces with real-time mobile capture and publishing video services.

IP Convergence

Business Approach

Atos Origin’s convergent IP services solution includes its own service delivery platform for new technologies such as Voice over IP (VoIP), IPTV (TV over Internet) and video streaming, and mobile TV for mobile operators. These services help Telecoms companies establish new revenue streams by supplying customers with advanced rich content to stimulate demand for broadband services.

Combined with Atos Origin’s consulting expertise, it enables the development of broadband services and the infrastructure and delivery of VoIP services; customization of applications and transformation of content to suit different devices; as well as the grouping of services for 2.5G and 3G environments.

Business Benefits

This allows operators to provide, for example, live-streamed video of events, interactive experiences, VoIP services, content management and downloads, support for multiple mobile terminals for customers and digital rights management systems. These services are supported by Atos Origin’s IMS & SIP application competence centre, Service Delivery Platform Centre and VoIP Competence Centre.
