Business Approach
Atos Worldline’s Next Generation Messaging platform enables operators to supply convergent messaging services, such as mail to voice; Instant Messaging; SMS and MMS services; voice messaging; email; and video mail.
Services within the platform include unified messaging services that provide single access to messages sent over multiple communication platforms (including instant messaging), increasing potential revenue for the operator; intelligent message routing; and managed voice services (including managing voicemail capacity, voice portal, interactive voice response systems and video mail).
Next Generation Messaging Solutions and BPO
The platform also includes solutions for managing security and risk, as well as payment systems for messaging services. Some examples include:
- Development of an Intelligent Messaging Router (IMR) solution (Amena, Vodafone, VodaCom)
- Implementation of a mobile alert platform - SMS, MMS, WAP – for personalized content services (Telefonica Moviles)
Implementation and deployment of an SMSC (Telstra)
Another Atos Worldline solution is now offering German financial institutions new mobile banking services for their card holders, thus giving credit card holders global access to their account data. Using SMS (Short Messaging Service) text messages, they can display the current state of their account and an overview of all payment transactions made with credit cards on the screen of their mobile whenever they wish. At the same time, the new services allow financial institutions better control and optimization of their payment traffic.
Multiple possibilities for use
In the banking and financial sectors, SMS text messages can be used for queries on bank accounts (account balances, turnover, transactions details, transfers) and also about share prices. From the banks’ point of view, sending SMS text messages offers numerous advantages. It can further improve customer relationship management and increase the loyalty of bank customers towards their credit institutes. Furthermore, the use of SMS services can be seen as an additional distribution channel for bank information, particularly when used in tandem with online banking.
